National Safety Month

June 2009 is National Safety Month as observed by the National Safety Council.  This year National Safety Month addresses injury prevention in the workplace, on the road and in homes and communities.

Each week in June, the NSC will highlight a safety topic that is accessible from their Web site at http://www.nsc.org/nsm/index.aspx. Click on the tabs at the top to download high-quality safety tips and posters to share with employees, church groups, social clubs, etc.

The topics spotlighted for the first two weeks in June are:
•    Week 1: June 1-7 Teen Driving
•    Week 2: June 8-14 Falls Prevention

Injuries can happen anytime, anywhere.  Let’s make the month of June a time when all employees and their families stop to consider some of the simple measures that can prevent injuries.  Help your employees prevent injuries — get them involved in National Safety Month this June. Review and download information that just might save a life.  Please post or distribute these free materials.

For additional information, visit the Safety and Workers’ Compensation Office Web site at http://www.safety.appstate.edu/, or contact Ronnie Riddle, MESH Safety Trainer in the Safety and Workers’ Compensation Office at 262-4008.
