While students are aware of the support provided by advisers, residence assistants, coaches, professors and staff, they may not know what to do when they are feeling overwhelmed with sadness, anxiety or stress. Every year, millions of students are affected by such mental health issues. The Counseling and Psychological Services Center will offer confidential screenings for a variety of mood and anxiety disorders Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 10 am.-2 p.m. in Plemmons Student Union’s Calloway Peak Room. Please encourage students to come test their moods, talk with a counselor, and pick up a brochure. Extra credit slips will be provided. What they learn may help them or a friend remember how good college life can be. Call 262-3180 or e-mail Denise Lovin at lovindm@appstate.edu for more information.
